Hello August: Part 2

In this post I'm going to tell you guys about some of the things I've been up to in August and maybe you could get some ideas or a bit of inspiration of your own. August has been a bit of a hectic month, it always feels like it goes by so quickly and before you know it you're back in work.

August Haul 2

The Muddled Mojito - August Haul

I bought a few other things this month that aren't beauty related - a new book and my new phone case. All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven (a recommendation by Zoella) should be a great summer read. The story follows 2 main characters, Finch and Theodore and is described as an intense and gripping novel. It also has great reviews so I thought I'd give it a go and I'll let you know how I get on.

The summer sales have been really good this year, so I've tried to make the most of them and I think I've done pretty well. I managed to pick up some great bargains that I've been eyeing up for a few months, but I think I'll do a separate clothing haul.

Splash of Grenadine is my first Essie nail polish but I knew I would be in safe hands after all the raving reviews. I've used it a couple of times and the staying power is great, it can last up to a week on me with barely any chips - I usually do 2 coats. The brush is rounded making it a dream to apply and I found it to be pretty quick to dry compared to some other nail polishes.

I recently took a trip into town and spotted this little beauty in the Cath Kidston window. I've been looking for a slightly larger makeup bag after my rather tiny Marc Jacobs Daisy pouch got a little bit on the small side for fitting my favourite beauty bits. It was a bit of a squeeze and every item had to be strategically placed to ensure everything fit - not an easy feat!

Hello August: Part 1

August has only just started but so far, I'd say it's gone well. August is that time in the summer when you realize how quickly the holidays have actually gone. Now that July's over you've only got 1 month left before it's back to the daily grind. So baring that in mind I feel that August is my most productive month of the holidays and I'm looking forward to what's to come. 

My Summer Reading List

The Summer is the perfect time to get some reading done. I find that reading is the perfect stress relief, it gives you the chance to stop thinking and lets your mind be completely empty. It's great if you're feeling a little bit stressed or maybe just have a few too many things on your mind.

My MAC Wishlist

This is going to be the first post in a series of my most wanted beauty products from high end and drugstore brands. I thought I’d start with MAC since it’s such a well-known brand and very easy to get hold of. I consider MAC a high end brand that’s at a slightly lower price range, which means I find it much easier to get carried away when browsing the website.
