My Make Up Brushes (Face)

I've got a real love for make-up brushes, I don't think I'll ever have too many. The only thing that's off-putting about them is the time it takes to clean them, no one enjoys that chore. I will say that I still love every brush I've bought and still use them all.

So a quick run through from left to right:

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - This was the first foundation brush I bought - it's well priced and easy to get hold of. I think it's a great starter brush and I still like to use it, but I don't tend to use it for foundation much anymore. Sometimes I use it to pack it on before blending it out with a Beauty Blender or for layering a lot of powder under my eyes when I really want to set my concealer.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 103 Angled Powder Brush (Essential Kit) - I got this in a kit when it was on offer at Christmas, the kit is still available on some websites. I use this to powder large areas like my cheeks to help other powder products apply without feeling chalky or patchy. This is a pretty 'wow' brush and when anyone sees it they instantly want to stroke it. It's a very soft brush and it's great for applying powder quickly, literally one swipe.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 300 Tapered Blush - I got this brush in the Christmas set too, and I've tried it as a blush brush and for contour but at the moment I've decided that it's my favourite brush to set my concealer under my eyes. It's super soft and the perfect tapered shape to fit under my eyes. The bristles are quite dense so they pick up a decent amount of product and I trust it set my concealer. I also love it because it doesn't make it look cakey. This could also be down to the powder but I like the finish it gives, almost airbrushed.

Real Techniques Duo Fibre Contouring Brush - This is the brush I used to use to set under my eyes but I found the bristles weren't very dense and didn't pick up as much product as I would've liked. I now use it for my highlight. It does the job and packs on a good amount of product without making you look too much like a disco-ball (not that that's a bad thing). There are better brushes on the market for highlighting but I think this one does the job well enough for the time being.

Louise Young LY51 Small Powder Buffing Brush - I picked this brush up recently after hearing Inthefrow talk about it so much, and her contour is always on point! It was a bit of a pain to get hold of, always in and out of stock, but I really wanted it so I stuck with it. I finally got my hands on it and I'm really impressed. I haven;t quite mastered my contouring skills yet but this brush definitely makes it a bit easier. The bristles are the right density and pick up the right amount of product, and the shape of the brush makes it really easy to place the product just where you want it.

MAC 168 Large Angled Contour Brush - This brush is silky soft and the shape makes it really easy to contour and bronze with. I currently use this brush for blush, it doesn't put too much colour of the cheeks and the shape makes it easy for my to place the blush where I want it. It's a pretty diverse brush, and one of my friends mentioned how she's used it for foundation and it's the best it's ever looked.

Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush - This is a great all-rounder. Powder, blush, bronzer - this brush makes it all so easy. By far one of my favourite brushes! I use this for bronzer at the moment, the duo fibre bristles means it's easy to keep it looking natural. It's great for bronzing up the whole face and I like to use it with Soap & Glory Solar Powder.

Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush - Last but not least my most expensive brush. I bought this after all the beauty blogger raves and I have to agree it's great. A bit of a pain to clean due to the thick density but all worth it. I don't use this for foundation as much as I used to since discovering the beauty blender (I prefer to tap my foundation in than using swiping motions) but this doesn't irritate my skins as much as other brushes. The bristles are really soft and it's really easy to buff product in and get a perfect finish.

Apologies for the very rambly post, I didn't realise I could write so much about make up brushes.
